When you put strategies in place to help you manage your time and organize your work, you may have a better chance of increasing your productivity. One way to do this is by managing your time effectively so that you can get more done in less time. You might also benefit from organizing your work by prioritizing the tasks that are most important and urgent.

Take one step at a time.

When we attempt to do more than one thing at a time, we tend to use more time just transitioning between the tasks. An approach that attempts to tackle multiple tasks simultaneously can result in some of those tasks not being done or being done at a lower quality than if you had focused on each one individually.

It’s important to take regular breaks

It’s tempting to put off taking a break when you’re busy, but failing to give yourself time to recharge can make you fatigued or burnt out. When this happens, you’ll have less energy or motivation for getting things done, so take advantage of your workplace’s mandatory breaks. Most offices offer several 10-minute breaks every few hours for rest and relaxation; these breaks allow you to clear your mind and get ready for the next task.

Start each day by focusing on the things that need to be done that day.

If you focus on your biggest and most time-consuming tasks before any other assignments, you’ll be able to keep yourself focused. Plan your assignment list according to these tasks, and tackle them when you’re most alert and energized.
